Work Experience

Here are some photos of Senior School pupils who have started a new work experience placement at Barnardo's Charity Shop in Llanelli. The girls are responsible for keeping the shop floor tidy; organising clothes in size order and arranging the stock in a presentable fashion for customers to look at. We also have one pupil gaining work experience in the School Library.
Some Senior School pupils take part in Work Experience sessions as part of their timetable. They visit various local organisations to experience the world of work for a few hours each week with the support of the School Youth Worker. Pupils undertake various tasks from organising shop window displays, preparing food, office work to serving customers.
Recent work experience placements have included:
Barnardo's Charity Shop
Snap Cymru Charity Shop
Llanelly House
Felinfoel Co-op
Pembrey Ski Centre

Pupils get the opportunity to develop their confidence in new environments and learn new skills whilst enhancing their communication and team work skills.
